F.C Barcelona transfer updates
Ever since the beginning of Covid-19, The Spanish giants have been plunged into serious financial insecurity. It was terrible to watch the club lose Lionel Messi who has been an integral part of the club’s history. The exit of Messi tuned in the arrival of Xavi, one of the club’s most capped players of all time. The new President, Joan Laporta wanted him, after the previous manager, Koeman, failed to deliver in his capacity to maintain the standing of the club and with the fans clearly demanding his resignation or a sack. Laporta witnessed the exit of the club from the Champions League group stage after a toothless trashing by Bayern Muchen which ended 3-0. The new manager, Xavi, has been left to understand the challenges that bewilder his managerial roles at Barcelona, a club he loves to the marrow.
- Rudiger’s contract situation at Chelsea- Situation, offers, and reports as Real Madrid considers him as a top priority
- The strong Nigerian Osimhen’s returns back to football injury at Napoli-
Barcelona is well understood to be monitoring players whose contract situations are very complicated in their different clubs, they anticipate storming for them. They heavily anticipate that they could find players who are free in the market during the summer and the transfer window which opens on the 1st day of January 2022. And The Mirror reports that the Catalan outfit have identified six players who could join for nothing shortly. Among those are Chelsea’s defensive trio Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Cesar Azpilicueta.
The 32-year-old Cesar Azpilicueta has been a crucial figure under Thomas Tuchel, helping Chelsea to win the Champions League last season. Azpilicueta’s European triumph in May 2021, saw him lift his seventh major trophy with the Blues, He loves the club and remains committed with every opportunity he finds to display his leadership roles as the captain and his credible defensive prowess. For all that he can, he can’t change the fact that a new generation is coming through. He is no longer considered Chelsea’s first-choice right-wing-back, with Reece James flourishing into one of Europe’s best in the position this season. It has left him contending with Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen, Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr for a place in Tuchel’s back three.
Rudiger is also heavily linked to Real Madrid who are willing to pay him a fortune as salary. He is highly loved and admired by Carlo Ancelotti who feels he’s got the aggressive qualities that he desires in his defenders. With the exit of Sergio Ramos to Paris Saint Germain, he wishes that Rudiger can feel the big void left by the former captain. Christensen has started contract negotiations with Chelsea and might be the most unlikely of those due to his desire for first-team football and the anticipated exit of Rudiger which could open the way for him to gain more minutes on the pitch.
Andre Onana is another player on their radar to replace Ter Stegen in goal as Ter Stegen has continually proven to have lost his prime, w Manchester United’s Anthony Martial keen to leave Old Trafford, he has asked his agent to find a new club for him, he feels unhappy and seemingly frustrated at the Old Trafford. Martial could be available on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, although Man United’s asking price for the Frenchman is high it’s only but a matter of time before we can know if Barcelona can afford to go for him.
A move for Real Sociedad’s midfielder and former Manchester United man Adnan Januzaj is still on the radar, just as a move for Dortmund’s Haaland is still undeniable. With Aguero already in his prime and battling with a long injury situation, Barcelona’s attacking options have been greatly affected. It’s only but a matter of time before it could be settled.
